STUMP

Stump is a dialogue between the body as a whole and the stump which becomes an autonomous living entity. Usually people react almost physically to people that have missing limbs or are visually disabled. This reaction might be a similar end to the “Missing Limb phantom disorder”, in which people that have lost a limb continue to feel the missing organ even though it is no longer there.

Stump is an improvisation, it has a set beginning in which the stump is awaken while the host, the performer, is seemingly dormant. From that moment on while the stump continues to make use of the body, slowly the performer awakes and the struggle / conflict begins.

Stump is a journey that I take upon myself to expose the ugly, deformed, stupid and vulgar. And cross the boundaries of the physical behave of myself.
